Roadmap

What Aethon is building.

Intelligence first, then the missions and systems it makes possible. No dates that cannot be kept.

Current

4

Being built now.

  • Scientific review

The method, published so scientists can challenge it.

  • Prototype 2

Live: 21 regions on one map, with what is known and what a camera has seen. Reviewers and first users test it next.

  • Knowledge Profile and Uncertainty

In Prototype 2: survey history, detail, dives and gaps, all sourced.

  • Unknown Map

In Prototype 2: four layers, including Seen, and every gap mapped.

Next

8

Once the current work holds.

  • Prototype 3: the whole ocean

Every ocean on one map, with search. Prototype 2 stays live until then.

  • Area Dossier

Everything known about one area, in one write-up. Mission planners test it next.

  • Possible Next Observation

What could close a gap, unranked and unvalidated in Prototypes 1 and 2. Expert review comes first.

  • First missions

Small, safe missions off New Jersey, with data brought back into the map.

  • Early access

Saved places, sourced answers and mission pages. Opens after the first mission's data.

  • Mission support

Helping partners plan and run missions.

  • Sensor integration

Reading data from others' instruments, keeping its source.

  • Environmental work

Monitoring and restoration, with outcomes measured.

Later, on Earth

14

Direction, not started.

  • Aethon Earth: the 3D map

The ocean in 3D, then land, ice and subsurface.

  • Aethon Leagues

Teams running safe missions in seasons, rewarded for care, not risk.

  • Unexplained observations, evidence first

Sourced records, each marked reported, reviewed or explained.

  • Deeper ocean and full depth

  • Antarctica and the poles

  • Caves and subsurface Earth

  • Records of Earth's history

  • Autonomous systems

  • Persistent sensing

  • Subsea infrastructure

  • Energy and storage research

  • Field hubs where missions recur

  • Open maps and education

  • Aethon Shop

Far future

3

Only after ocean exploration works, and only if it earns it.

  • Ocean worlds and planetary environments

  • Lunar and Martian subsurface

  • Space-based sensing and infrastructure

Capabilities, in order
  1. Intelligence
  2. Sensing
  3. Robotics
  4. Autonomy
  5. Exploration systems

The order can change as the work teaches us. The direction holds.

The plan, in short.

Aethon Intelligence answers one question for any place in the ocean: what is actually known there? It separates what has been measured, what a camera has seen, what is only predicted and what is still missing, and every value opens to its source.

It is built for people and the planet: seeing what is really known about the ocean, and what is not, helps people understand it and protect it.

Where it starts.

Everything above depends on the first phase working. That is what is being built now.
