Direct donations open a little later — we want the giving structure set up honestly (likely a dedicated nonprofit arm) before we take a dollar. Until then, Aethon is a company, so contributions here wouldn't be tax-deductible — and we'd rather wait and do it right, with receipts. For now, the best way to fund the mission is simple:
How we're funded
No investors. The mission isn't for sale.
We don't sell equity and we don't take investors — no one buys their way into steering the mission for profit. Support is by donation, or you can fund the mission and we'll pay you back. That keeps Aethon's compass pointed at the world, not a quarterly number.
But you can earn it. Equity isn't for sale — it's for the people who build the mission. Down the road, proven contributors who do real work through Open Missions earn real ownership over time, set up legally and fairly (with vesting). Bought-in investors, no. Earned-in builders, yes.
Where the money goes: every donation goes to the missions — 100% — and we'll show exactly where, with receipts. (A fair founder salary comes from product revenue, not your donations.) Over time we'll openly publish what we spend on, so you can see it. Fair, never greedy.
