Backing someone isn't a loan with strings. We put in funding, tools, and an audience to help an idea get off the ground — a brand, a product, a food spot, a mission. You keep ownership and run it.

Ownership of Aethon
Earned by builders. Never sold to investors.
No one buys their way into steering Aethon. We don't take outside investors — the mission isn't for sale. Instead, ownership is earned over time by the people who build it: proven contributors who do real work through Open Missions become eligible for real equity, set up properly and legally, with vesting.

Recognition, XP, and rewards for real contribution. Honest about the order — meaningful ownership comes as the mission grows.
Later, done right
A proper equity structure formalized with legal counsel — never handed out casually, never by DM. Earned-in builders, yes; bought-in investors, no.
Getting paid
Do real work, get really paid.
Missions pay bounties or day-rates, roles pay steadily, and every payment states its amount up front. The flow is simple:

Check in at the event (QR) or ship the work (PR) — the proof is built in.

Payout lands via Stripe on completion — day-rate missions pay per checked-in day.

Every payout shows in your history — and in ours, publicly, right here.
Who pays: Aethon-posted missions are paid by Aethon. Missions posted by verified creators are paid by the creator — directly today, and through Stripe Connect as we grow, where Stripe holds and routes the money. Aethon never holds anyone else's funds — payments always run through Stripe, the regulated party. Clean, legal, and everyone can see how it works.
Live numbers, soon. Once we're live, this page shows real monthly money-in / money-out — filterable by month and category — so anyone can see exactly where it went. Until then, this is the model. It won't change.
